- The National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is considering conducting a Study to test the effect of exposure to an innovative program of camp and clinic-based be havioral interventions, on dietary glycemic index and glycemic control in early and middle adolescents with type 1 and 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study is to test an innovative program of camp-based and individualized clinic-base d family interventions designed to promote consumption of lower glycemic carbohydrates from whole foods and to determine the efficacy of such a dietary change in promoting improved glycemic control among ch ildren and adolescents with type 1 and 2 diabetes. NICHD anticipates making one award for a 5 year, in crementally funded completion-type contract for this procurement. RFP No. NICHD 2005 -02 will be avail able electronically on or about May 20, 2005.
