- Description
- This announcement serves as a Notice of Intent to issue a sole source purchase order to McPherson Inc. for a Spatial Characterization System. This constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The requirement is determined to be available from only one source because McPherson Inc. can provide a custom spectral calibration system that will be adapted to an existing spatial characterization system. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 333314. This requirement will be procured as a small business set-aside. Note 22 applies to McPherson Inc. for the acquisition of 1 each Custom Design Spatial Characterization System. This system consists of (1) Scanning Aperture -- one vertically translating, bilaterally adjustable slit assembly[ slit length is 20 mm and horizontal; slit width is capable of being continuously varied by precision micrometer from 10-um to 4-um (equivalent or better than McPherson Part # 8103-0039-0)] to include light, tight, flexible coupling to the collimating chamber as well as a heavy duty motorized vertical translator (2) one Slit Drive (equivalent or better than McPherson Inc. Model 792) Micrometer stepper system with one stepping micrometer (system designed to operate slit width or aperture(s) with positive limit switches to be set in conjunction with calibrated slit assemblies to prevent damage to slit jaws) (3) one universal lamp housing (equivalent or better than McPherson Inc. Model 621) with forced air cooling capable of accepting McPherson Inc. light source module part # 105-101722-2 (4) one 150 W Xenon Ozone free light source module (equivalent or better than McPherson Inc. part # 105-101722-2) to be installed on and ready for use with existing power supply (5) one single source focusing system (equivalent or better than McPherson Model 617A) with 2 reflective optics to focus a McPherson source onto the entrance slit of a monochromator with aperture capable of matching the McPherson source to F/number and with protected silver coated optics (6) one breadboard to consist of an optical breadboard/aluminum plate with rails and supports so assembled to permit expansion with larger collimators including one kinematic mounting set for interface of a collimator to the supplied breadboard/plate which allows a collimator to be removed and replaced, and one kinematic mounting set which allows interface of the breadboard/sub-table to an optical table. Responses should include packaging and shipping charges as applicable. Delivery required is FOB Destination ( Lockwood, AFRL/SNHA, Bldg 1110, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731) within 30 days after award. This will be a firm fixed price contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The product must meet "Buy American Act" provisions. The offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the contracting officer. Offers may be faxed to Kathleen M. Brock (781) 377-1352 or e-mailed to Kathleen.brock@hanscom.af.mil. All required information must be received on or before 3:00 PM (EST) on 11 May 2005.
