Description
The purpose of this announcement is to publish the Request for Information (RFI) from an interested bidder and the Government responses. QUESTIONS FROM THE BIDDER: 1. During our visit to the above referenced site, we observed various items of furniture, to include cloth covered chairs, cloth-covered partitians, desks, etc. What is to be done with these items? We see no mention of these items to be removed and disposed of or cleaned included in the bid. 2. With reference to reconstruction in the bathroom, do you require green board instead of regular dry wall? The green board is not specified in the bid documents. 3. We did not see an entry point to the attic (no steps). We assume that the front ceiling grids must come out to create access to install the boards in the attic. Is that correct? 4. We observed approximately 5' of wall past the window in the first room. This is not addressed in the bid documents. Should this 5' of wall also be removed? RESPONSES FROM THE GOVERNMENT: 1. Furniture will be removed from the building by the Refuge Staff. 2. Water resistant (green Board) is required on the plumbing wall. 3. There is no attic access except through the suspended ceiling. This ceiling gives access throughout the building. Recommend removing portions of the ceiling grid in the Multi-Purpose Room to gain attac access. The reflected ceiling plan on drawing sheet A-2 shows ceiling tiles to be removed for this purpose. If necessary, the Contractor may remove any additional tiles and grid. However, the tiles and grid components must be protected. 4. A general note on drawing sheet A-1 states that if more mold damage is found that is not covered in the contract documents, the Contractor is to notify the Contracting Officer for adjustment (in accordance with contract terms). As a result of this announcement, the Bid Due Date and Time remains the same at May 10, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
