Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Analytical Chemistry Division requires 27 gas cylinders containing 5 mmol/mol sulfur dioxide in nitrogen. The gas mixtures required are intended for use as gas Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) certified as to composition by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). High quality starting materials must be used and the greatest possible care is required in the preparation of these mixtures to ensure that the purity, composition, and stability are to specifications. They must conform to the Standard SRM Technical Specification to be released with the solicitation. Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION. This requirement is being procured using simplified acquisition procedures under the authority of FAR Part 13, via full & open competition. The NAICS code for this requirement is 325120 with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, any subsequent amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-05-Q-0599. The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about May 9, 2005, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. The due date for quotations shall be stated in the solicitation. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant purchase order. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
