Description

The government (88 CONS/PKBB) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(ii). The proposed source is Spectra-Physics Lasers Inc. of Mountain View CA. The items being procured includes one each 0028-2060 Argon Ion Plasma Tube and associated labor, parts, materials, and tools necessary to repair Spectra-Physics brand 2085-20/4.0S laser. Equipment must be compatible and interface with existing equipment. Due to the proprietary design specifications on the laser head and power supply, only the original manufacturer can supply a new plasma tube. This notice is being published for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotations received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
