- 1. Question: Are there any detailed specifications on the bed? Answer: Outside dimensions are 85 inches X 36 inches. Inside dimensions are 80 inches X 34 inches. Beds consist of headboard, footboard, and spring assembly (36 inches X 80 inches). Beds must be constructed to accommodate assembly and disassembly by the G overnment as needed. In order for beds to be interchanged with existing Government owned beds, any bed offered in response to the Invitation for Bid (IFB) must be capable of being used (bunked) with Adden model RM07 bunk bed. As a result, the variance of two inches in the IFB is hereby deleted. 2. Question: Do you have a manufacture and part number for the beds? Answer: Suggested bed is Adden Manufacturing, model RM07. Provision 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal is included in W911S1-05-B-0021. Vendors bidding on equal must meet the salient characteristics listed in the solicitation and provide informati on as required in 52.211-6. 3. Question: Will the building have tenants occupying during the installation? Answer: Currently there is no one occupying the buildings however there is a possibility the buildings will be occupied. 4. Question: Do you need certs and reps. Answer: In accordance with IFB W911S1-05-B-0021, FAR provision 52.212-3 and DFARS provision 252.212-7000 must be submitted with the bid. . 5. Question: How close are the buildings? Answer: Five hundred feet apart. 6. Question: Is there a prevailing wage determination? Answer: No. 7. Question: Do you have any images or samples? Answer: No. 8. Question: Are there any work hour restrictions? Answer: Work necessary to remove existing and install new beds and mattresses shall be performed during normal duty hours, Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM. 9. Question: Are the existing beds wood or metal. Answer: The existing beds to be removed are all metal, circa 1950/1960. 10. Question: How many buildings and what is the number of floors? Answer: Delivery and Installation shall take place in two three-story buildings, #5912 and #5913 11. Question: Is there elevator access? Answer: No. 12. Question: How close can truck get to building? Answer: Ten feet. 13 Question: Will Fort Dix provide dumpsters? Answer: Dumpsters will be provided for the disposal of packaging material for the new beds and mattresses only. Dumpsters will not be provided for the removal and disposal of the existing beds. 14. Question: Will there be other vendors in the buildings? Answer: No. 15. Question: Is there a possibility that the delivery date could be extended To July 15th? Answer: Due to mission constraints, the June 15th delivery is mandatory. 16. Question: is there a loading dock or staging area? Answer: There is not a loading dock or a staging area. 17. Question: Is there an on-site recycle center? Answer: No. 18. Question: Will there be a site visit? Answer: A formal site visit is scheduled for May 11, 2005 at 10:00AM. Prospective bidders may arrange a site visit by notifying the Contracting Officer in writing at the following address Not Later Than May 6, 2005, 4:30PM: Army Reserve Contracting Center , Attn: SFRC-NR-ARCC/C, Karen Umstot, 5418 South Scott Plaza, Fort Dix, NJ 08640-5097, or you may fax your request to, Karen Umstot (609) 562-6933. Contractors may experience delays at the gates when entering and/or exiting the installation. The government shall not compensate for any such delays. All vehicles are subject to search upon entry, exit and while on the installation. Refusal to comply wi th a Dodd Police request to search a vehicle will result in denial of access to the installation and may result in criminal prosecution. 19. Question: What are the existing mattress covers made of? Answer: Cotton.
