Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC), Panama City, Florida, intends to solicit VXI Technology, Inc., 2031 Main Street, Irvine, California 92614-6509, on a sole source basis for the procurement of two each of the following: 8-channel, 16-bit Digitizer Module, PN: 70-0054-339; Synthetic Instruments VT2000, DMM/CTR/ARB, PN: 70-0195-000; IEEE-1394 Firewire to VXIbus Interface, Board Only Kit (No Cable OS SW), PN: 183815-01; IEEE-1394 Firewire to VXIbus Interface, Interface Kit for Windows NT, PN: 778117-01; IEEE-1394 Firewire to VXIbus Interface, Interface Kit for Windows 2000/ME/98, PN: 778118-01; SMP110, Switch Modularity and Interface Platform, Single Slot Base Unit (holds two switch modules), PN: 70-0141-000; 80 SPST Relays, 2A Per Channel, PN: 70-0143-002; 50 SPDT Relays, 2A Per Channel, PN: 70-0143-003; and 6-Slot VXIBUS Mainframe, PN: 70-0252-000. Extended warranties and 24/48 hour exchange agreements are also being procured for these items as ap! propriate. These components will be used in the MK 650 Test Set. The software developed by NSWC PC for this test set is highly specific to the VXI modular instrumentation cards manufactured by VXI Technology, Inc. This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. To purchase modular instrumentation cards from any other manufacturer would require re-writing all of the MK 650 Test Set software. The software design and development stages have required many months, and re-writing it would be a major cost. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018.
