Description

Because the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis does not produce private sector GDP for firm size categories, the Office of Advocacy over the years has contracted with researchers to calculate small businesses? current share of private sector GDP. For a compendium of such research, please see http://www.sba.gov/advo/research. The Office of Advocacy is interested in updating the figures and seeing if the relative share of small business output in the U.S. economy has changed. Note that figures should use Advocacy?s research definition of a small business, which is a firm (or the entirety of all establishments or business locations in the U.S.) with fewer then 500 employees, and the final result should include single person operations (or nonemployer businesses). Previous research has created annual estimates over time by industry. Proposals are expected to create estimates for at least the last ten years, with older data also adding to the value of the final product. Questions and answers for this procurement shall comence on May 30, 2005 and end on June 7, 2005. No questions after June 7, 2005.
