Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake, CA intends to enter into negotiations for a firm fixed price contract on an other than full and open competition basis with B & P Process Equipment, 1000 Hess Avenue Saginaw, MI 48601 for a quantity of two (2) Model 2-PX Vertical Planetary Mixer and Mixing Bowl. A portion of the specifications include but is not limited to the following: Volumetric Capacity, with the blades in working position, the mixing bowl has a total free volume of 1.6 U. S (0.751 liters); Power capability - the drive components and internal gearing of the 2-PX are rated for the torque equivalent to a maximum of 1/4 HP at 152-rpm fast blade speed; Major Mechanical Components - stand, drive system with a mixer drive motor of 1/4 HP single speed; Drive Train; Controls; Guards; Stationary and Rotating Housing; Sealing Systems; and Mixing Blades Machine Finishes. The solicitation will close on or about 6/10/2005. Award will be issu! ed under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5). This requirement is limited to B & P Process Equipment because they are the only manufacturer that can provide the patented Baker-Perkins two-blade, dual-planetary mixer. Currently NAWCWD has 6 1-pint mixers in use, the new 1-pint mixers must be compatible with the existing controllers already in use at China Lake, CA. Any firm believing they can provide a 1-pint Vertical Planetary Mixer and Mixing Bowl that meets the Government's specification may submit a written response to be received by the Contracting Officer no later than (15 days) after this notification is published. Responses shall provide documentation to include brochures and/or literature that show they can meet the requirements stated in the solicitation. All requests must reference RFQ N68936-05-T-0189.
