Description
The Overseas Buildings Operations, U.S. Department of State (DoS) intends to perform a limited competition for Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) doors and windows for use on Embassies and other Department of State buildings worldwide. The limited competition will be conducted only with those firms who have had their products prequalified by the DoS, Bureau of Diplomatic Security to DS standards. It is my understanding getting pre-qualified can take several months to accomplish. If your firm is interested in becoming pre-qualified or wish to see if your firm is still listed, please contact DS/PSD/NOB, Dusty G. Rhodes at (703) 312-3144 . The immediate requirement is for an IDIQ contract for a base year and four option years. It will require the manufacture and storage of approximately 230 FE/BR door assemblies and 4000 window assemblies (including the glass) in approximately six months with additional orders throughout the contract period. This requirement is urgent and an August 31, 2005 award is expected. If you have the capacity to produce the quantities above that DoS requires by Febuary 1, 2006 and are not on the pre-qualified listing already, please call the contract specialist below as well as the POC for getting qualified. The scope of the work is as follows: Provide design, fabrication, crating, storage and loading services for FE/BR Doors and Windows. The intent of this contract is for the USG to procure, in advance, certain materials for use by OBO?s New Embassy Compound Contractors. The Contractor is solely responsible for providing complete design, fabrication, crating, storage and loading.
