- The Product Manager-Clothing and Individual Equipment has been tasked to expedite a project to modernize the Army Class A uniform. Support from a well-known design house with brand name recognition in the career apparel industry is desired. The ult imate goal is for a new male and female service uniform design based on the historic influence of the Army Blue uniform.. We would like to have 2-3 prototype concepts developed and 12-15 samples of these concepts available to be worn by solidiers at the a nnual fall meeting of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) on or about 31 Aug 2005. This requirement is being solicited using full and open competition. The NAICS code assigned to this effort is 541490 with a small business size standard of $ 6M. Any contract awarded as a result of this synopsis would include the following requirements. 1. Submission of sketches of 2-3 all new prototype concepts (male and female). Male uniform ensemble consists of coat, trousers, long and short sleeve shirts . Female uniform consists of coat, slacks, skirt, long and short sleeve tuck-in blouse and long and short sleeve overblouse. 2. Submission of 3-4 concepts arrived at by cutting and sewing the current Army Blue uniform. We will provide 4 male and 4 femal e uniforms. 3. Production of 12-15 samples of each concept developed in 1 and 2 above. These are needed by 31 Aug 2005. 4. Production of 200 uniforms (mix to be determined) based on guidance provided after the AUSA conference. These uniforms will be required by 31 Oct 2005. 5. An option to produce 2000 uniforms (mix to be determined) for delivery in mid-Feb 2006. 6. An option to produce up to 25,000 uniforms (mix to be determined) to be delivered by April 2007. 7. Provide a full range of graded patterns for final male and female uniform by Feb 2006. Uniform size range must consider Classis and Athletic fit for men and junior, misses and womens for women.
