- The VA Pittsburgh has a requirement to Replace Chiller and Pumps Building 8 at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. Contractor shall furnish all necessary tools, materials, equipment, and supervision for IFB 244-05-00948, Project 646-05-103U, in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Work includes but is not limited to general construction, mechanical, electrical work, alterations, and certain other items required for the removal of an existing 750 ton chiller and replacing it with a 1250 ton chiller. Construction cost range per VAAR 836-204 is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The applicable NAICS code is 238220 with small business size standard of $12,000,000. Specifications, Drawings, and forms for submitting a bid will be available on or about August 19, 2005 at http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov or http://www.fedbizops.gov for downloading FREE of CHARGE. Pre-bid conference is scheduled for on or about Friday, September 9, 2005 at 10:00AM at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Facility Management Conference Room, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. "NOTE: All offerors are encouraged to attend the Prebid Conference. Questions must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by e-mail to Kathleen.Grundza@med.va.gov or by fax to 412-365-5451 no later than September 2, 2005 so they can be addressed at the Prebid Conference. Further questions will be accepted by the Contracting Officer by e-mail or fax until close of business five (5) calendar days after the Prebid Conference, and responses will be provided to all bidders on the Bidder's Mailing List. Questions received later than five (5) calendar days after the Prebid Conference will not be addressed in the interest of adhering to the scheduled bid opening date." Bid opening will be on or about September 19, 2005 at 2:00PM EST. All respondents must be registered in CCR data base, web address http://www.ccr.gov, and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov, and register or be registered with Vets 100 at webpage http://vets100.cudenver.edu/. Hard copy requests of solicitation must be in writing submitted to Kathleen Grundza (04A1-H), VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 and MUST be accompanied by a non-refundable check in the amount of $60.00 payable to VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted ONLY at the Business Opportunity Website. All bidders are advised they are responsible for obtaining amendments to the solicitation from the BOS web site. Interested bidders must go to the BOS website to be entered on the Bidders Mailing List and to obtain copies of the Bidders Mailing List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office. Award is subject to the Availability of Funds.
