- Description
- The Department of Defense, TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) is in the initial stage of developing future requirements for pharmacy services to eligible TRICARE beneficiaries through Retail Pharmacies and Mail Order Pharmacy. ********** (MODIFIED JULY 21, 2005) TMA will be hosting an industry forum on 26 July 2005 regarding the TRICARE Pharmacy Program. The purpose of the forum is to enable the Government to seek information from industry regarding future requirements. This is an opportunity for Industry to inform the Government of its best practices and provide comments as to the draft requirements statement. This opportunity should be taken by industry to assist in the development of the Governments requirements. All comments will be considered (END MODIFICATION). ********** The DoD currently offers worldwide pharmacy services to eligible TRICARE beneficiaries through four venues: (1) direct care pharmacies located at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), (2) retail network pharmacies (TRRx), (3) a TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy (TMOP), and (4) retail non network pharmacies. The Government is seeking industry input with regards to the consolidation of the TRICARE retail network pharmacy and mail order pharmacy venues into a single set of services to be operated by a contracted Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) and will be known as T-Pharm. Industry input will be considered when the Government develops its final requirements. TMA is sponsoring this industry forum for the anticipated acquisition. Interested firms are invited to attend this one day forum on July 26, 2005, at 0800 - 1500 hrs at the Doubletree Hotel Denver Southeast, 13696 E. Iliff Pl at I-225 (reservations: 800-222-8733). The hotel will reserve a block of rooms for attendees (for a specified length of time; not known at this time). The Draft Requirements Document, Government Questions for the Industry Forum, and Registration information will be found in Forum section under the Special Notice, Reference Number 2005-06 on the TRICARE website at http://www.tricare.osd.mil/contracting/healthcare/solicitations/. Registration is due by 22 July 2005. All interested parties may attend the forum. Questions must be submitted using the * E-Mail Questions to the Contracting Officer* option for Reference Number 2005-06 on the above website.
