Description
The purpose of this questionnaire is to aid in determining the suitability of your equipment (with minor modification if necessary) to satisfy US Army requirements for an existing, commercially available (marketed) family of Airborne Graders. The te chnical requirements are subject to change. Mil Spec (Mil-S-53000) and a questionnaire are published (on TACOM's web site: http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/ssn/sources.htm ) to gather industry input. The Mil Spec is provided as a general guideline and w ill be updated and re-written as a performance based Purchase Description prior to Solicitation for Bids. At this point, three types of graders are being considered. The grader types are divided according to their transportability requirements as follows. Type I Non-sectionalized, C-130 Air Transportable and Air-droppable. (Maximum weight 30,600 lbs.) Type II Sectionalized, C-130 Air Transportable and Air-droppable (See Type I). Helicopter (CH-47) slingable in two loads. (Maximum weight per load 16,644 lbs.) Type III Non-sectionalized, C-130 Air Transportable and Air-droppable. Helicopter (CH-47) slingable in one load. (Maximum weight 16,644 lbs.) These new vehicles are intended to replace the Armys current fleet of aging Caterpillar Model 130G Motor Graders. The Grader must be diesel-engine driven, self-propelled, and capable of completing earthmoving tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to: coarse and fine grading, low and high bank sloping, flat and V-ditching, scarifying, and general construction and maintenance of roads. If your company only produces one or two of the three types listed above, your response is still solicited. Points of contact at TACOM for this survey are Jeff Calhoun 586-574-6556 or Bernard Sia 586-574-6101.
