Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), for modification #0002 of contract # SB1341-04-C-0034 with Frontier Industrial Technology Inc., of Towanda, PA. Work under this modification will provide two (2) pump cart assemblies.*** ***Contract #SB1341-04-C-0034 was awarded on September 22, 2004. It was competed via full and open competition, all associated documentation and amendments were posted to www.fedbizopps.com under solicitation # SB1341-04-R-0019. The Sole Source Determination is based on the following: Frontier Industrial Technology, Inc. is the owner of the engineering design drawings and control software specifications of the Dynacoat Coater. The proposed Pump Cart must connect to the Dynacoat Coater via special "explosion proof" electrical power connections and be controlled by the Dynacoat Coater "touchscreen" user interface panel. Therefore, Frontier Industrial Technology, Inc. is the sole manufacturer that can supply the proposed Pump Cart that will ensure 100% compatibility. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 30 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by August 15, 2005.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
