Description
The Program Support Center Acquisitions Branch knows of only a single source capable of accomplishing this requirement and intends to award a five month simplified acquisition for The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to CHD Research Associates, Inc., 5525 Twin Knolls, Road, Suite 322, Columbia, MD 21045. The objective of this acquisition is to purchase two (2) dataset analyses from the Nursing home data which come from CMS?s Minimum Data Sets and the other from home health care data from the Outcome and Assessment Information Set for inclusion in the 2006 reports. These reports assist AHRQ in addressing the health care needs of individuals with disabilities and who need chronic care. To that end the contractor shall conduct analyses of long stay nursing home measures by race/ethnicity for Calendar Year (CY) 2004 in the following areas of concentration ? bedfast, incontinent, catheter, pain restraints, high and low risk pressure sores, urinary tract infections, weight loss, ADL decline, depression, mobility, re-hospitalization; conduct analyses of short stay nursing home measures by race/ethnicity for CY 2004 ? pressure sores, pain and delirium; conduct analyses of home health care measures by race/ethnicity for CY 2004 ? improvement in upper body dressing, improvement in bathing, stabilization in bathing, improvement in toileting, improvement in transferring, improvement in ambulation/locomotion, improvement in management of oral medications, improvement in pain interfering with activity, improvement in dyspnea, improvement in urinary incontinence, improvement in confusion frequency, and acute care hospitalization. This vendor has the unique capability in that they already have access to files in the format needed for these analyses and can consequently run these needed analyses more efficiently and effectively. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested parties capable of responding to the requirement may submit a capability statement specifically identifying their ability to accomplish this requirement. Responses are due within 10 days after publication of this notice. Responses shall be reviewed solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition following consideration of responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
