- COURSE TITLE: USCG TACTICAL TRAINING COURSE PURPOSE: To train USCG personnel in combat marksmanship and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) techniques in order to enhance boarding capabilities of United States Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Teams. TITLE: COURSE INTRODUCTION / OPSEC / IMAGE PROJECTION Scope: Welcome students and provide information and the general rules regarding facility, introduce the instructors, and all support personnel. Present course overview, objectives, schedule and expectations, OPSEC and Image Projection. TITLE: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE M9 SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL Scope: Students will understand the components and characteristics of the M9 Semiautomatic Pistol. TITLE: FUNDAMENTALS OF PISTOL SHOOTING Scope: Explain and demonstrate the seven fundamentals of pistol marksmanship. TITLE: WEAPONS SAFETY AND RANGE COMMANDS Scope: Explain proper safe weapons handling procedures and range commands while executing live fire drills. TITLE: SURVIVAL MINDSET Scope: Describe the need for mental preparation or a ?survival mindset? for law enforcement officers. Explain the color codes of a survival mindset, the principles of Personal defense and ?Victor versus Victim? concepts. Explain the statistical data supporting the dangers faced by officers, and discuss the concepts for the development of awareness, tactics, and mindset. TITLE: LOW LIGHT SHOOTING Scope: Explain and demonstrate the techniques and proper use of equipment used to engage targets utilizing shoot a handgun and carbine rifle in low light conditions. TITLE: HANDGUN RETENTION Scope: Explain and demonstrate threat awareness and the techniques an officer can use to protect his sidearm while in tactical situations. TITLE: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TACTICAL SHOTGUN Scope: Introduce students to the components and characteristics of the tactical shotgun. TITLE: FUNDAMENTALS OF SHOOTING THE TACTICAL SHOTGUN Scope: This lesson will introduce the participant to the fundamentals of shooting the tactical shotgun. Students will demonstrate safe weapons handling procedures of the tactical shotgun and demonstrate be the seven fundamentals of shooting. TITLE: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE M4 CARBINE RIFLE Scope: Discuss the general characteristics of the carbine rife TITLE: FUNDAMENTALS OF SHOOTING THE CARBINE RIFLE Scope: Discuss and demonstrate the seven fundamentals of shooting the carbine rifle. TITLE: INTRODUCTION TO MOVEMENT AND TACTICS Scope: Demonstrate the techniques used by Tactical Teams when effecting entries into rooms or buildings, commands, role and responsibilities of key positions, and the use of distraction devices. TITLE: CQB SAFETY BRIEF Scope: Explain the safety procedures associated with CQB training and live fire exercises. TITLE: MANUAL BREACHING TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES Scope: Explain and demonstrate the role and responsibilities of the breaching personnel and explain and demonstrate the specific employment techniques utilized to conduct tactical entries into a structure utilizing the proper tool. TITLE: SHOTGUN BREACHING TECHNIQUES Scope: Explain and demonstrate the proper shotgun breaching techniques and proper employment of the tactical shotgun during CQB operations, TITLE: SIMUNITION FX? MARKING CARTRIDGE TRAINING Scope: Explain and demonstrate the proper procedures associated with using Simunition ? gear during training. TITLE: URBAN MOVEMENT TECHNIQUES Scope: Explain and demonstrate the proper techniques used by Tactical Teams when operating in an urban environment. COURSE TITLE: USCG ADVANCED TACTICAL OPERATIONS COURSE PURPOSE: The Advanced Tactical Operations Course is a four-week course that provides selected USCG personnel in the technical skills and operational procedures of advanced combat marksmanship, advanced close quarters combat (CQC) techniques, enhanced boarding capabilities necessary for the USCG Maritime Safety and Security Teams to conduct the prosecution and resolution of terrorist situations under conditions that are not possible for the conventionally trained USCG law enforcement (LE) officer in support of all USCG LE missions across the operational continuum. TITLE: COURSE ADVANCED CLOSE QUARTERS BATTLE TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercises, plan, rehearse and conduct CQC operations applying the principle and fundamentals of room clearing and room combat. TITLE: GEAR FLOTATION AND WATER SURVIVABILITY TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, demonstrate the proper techniques required for water survivability. TITLE: BOAT FORMATIONS TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercises, demonstrate and discuss the different boat formations and their proper use. TITLE: FAMILIARIZE WITH INDIVIDUAL TACTICAL BOARDING EQUIPMENT TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given an overview of an individual?s tactical boarding equipment, discuss categories of gear and their proper uses. TITLE: HOOKING AND CLIMBING PROCEDURES TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, discuss and demonstrate the procedures for hooking and climbing onto a vessel. TITLE: TACTICAL SHIPBOARD HOOK AND CLIMBING EQUIPMENT TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given an overview of the equipment required for high boarding, discuss the type of equipment used and their uses. TITLE: TACTICAL BOAT OPERATIONS, BOAT TACTICS TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction, discuss the different boat tactics, phases and their proper use. TITLE: TACTICAL BOAT COMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction, discuss basic radio communications procedures and boat specific radio procedures during tactical boarding operations. TITLE: TACTICAL SHIPBOARD MOVEMENT TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, discuss and demonstrate the procedures for moving tactically onboard a vessel. TITLE: UNITED STATES COAST GUARD VERTICAL INSERTION TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, discuss and demonstrate the proper procedures for exiting a helicopter utilizing a Fastrope. TITLE: TACTICAL BREACHING TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, explain and demonstrate the safe and effective use of tactical breaching equipment. TITLE: FINAL CULMINATION INTEGRATED ASSAULT FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FTX) TERMINAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: : Given a block of instruction and practical exercise, plan, brief and conduct a live-fire assault mission/operation using all the principles and fundamentals of close quarters battle (CQB) and room clearing.
