Description

THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSISThe 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for iCycler iQ5 real time thermal cycler w/controller, Biorad Laboratories Cat. # BUN-7368 ? 1 each; iQ5 Optical System, Biorad Laboratories Cat. # 1709750 ? 1 each; PCR instrument installation, Biorad Laboratories Cat. # 149-0013T, Warranty extension agreement (3 years total), Biorad Laboratories Cat. # 170-8740WS and shipping, Biorad Laboratories Cat. # 1709750WS are to be included. This is a Sole Source with Biorad Laboratories ? Life Science Research IAW FAR 6.302-1. Biorad Laboratories is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement. This equipment is intended for the QA/QC of the oligomers being synthesized for research and development of the local program. The program currently has critical research projects that are highly dependent on sequencing results and it?s necessary to use the same equipment for QA/QC comparisons. Biorad is the only source for the iCycler real-time PCR instrumentation that meets the quality assurance needs of the expanding program. Since the iCycler is part of the protocols that are used by the research labs, it greatly enhances the programmatic continuity and quality assurance to have all labs use the same sequencing equipment. No solicitation documents exists at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 3826 with a business size of 500 employees and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334516. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Biorad Laboratories ? Life Science Research is the only source capable of providing this requirement. Phone calls will not be accepted.
