Description
1. This is a Request for Information (RFI). The Training Systems (PMA-205) at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in Patuxent River, MD, is seeking information from potential sources (U.S. and foreign) regarding industry technologies applicable to provide Moving Land Targets (MLT) for Navy ranges. The U.S. Navy is considering the acquisition of current or emergent MLT that focus capability in the following areas: (1) a remotely operated wheeled or tracked vehicle, or a remote operating system designed to fit a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) wheeled or tracked vehicle (2) includes a robust and threat representative signature in the Infrared (IR), Radio Frequency (RF) and MMW regimes, allowing detection, acquisition, tracking/scoring and targeting at tactically representative ranges (3) can support and withstand multiple attacks during a single range session, and multiple attacks throughout the life of the system (4) able to operate primarily on unpaved roads covered with mud or 1-3 inches of snow, and in adverse weather conditions ranging from 10 ? 115 degrees F (5) includes a command/control station for location and tracking of the MLT (6) emulates fast and highly maneuverable commercial vehicles (8) MLT must be affordable. The U.S. Navy is seeking innovative solutions to address these major areas. Additionally, firms may address other innovative solutions that are not included in this RFI. Commercial solutions or technical solutions qualified and currently in production, or prototypes constructed with already qualified sub-components that meet these requirements are highly desired. Interested parties must clarify if their firm can provide commercial or non-developmental items that could be modified to meet the U.S. Navy?s needs. Proprietary information MUST be marked as such, on a page-by-page basis. This RFI does not, in any way constitute a Request For Proposal and as such, is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information/items requested.
