- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions received and to remove the requirement for the airborne cable kit. The due date for quotes remains unchanged. Question: The RFQ states an airborne and ground cable. Do you need two Airborne kits and two ground cable kits per radio test system? Answer: We only need one set of Ground Cable Kit per Test Set for a total QTY of 2 overall. The requirement for the airborne cable kit is removed. Question: In the RFQ the Army states that this equipment must interface with the existing systems. Do you have a specification for the other system interfaces? Answer: The statement, must interface with the existing systems, pertains to the test sets interface with the SINGARS Radio Sets. Question: How should the quote look- as simple as a single page Answer: The format of the quote is up to you, the document does need to contain the items requested in the combined solicitation synopsis document, most companies just submit a quote on their company letterhead and it can be one page. Question: Necessary details it should contain - does the government need my cost and markup or just one final figure for each item Answer: One final figure for each item. Question: Given that there is significant lead times for these items and the manufacturers require funding up front; is the government willing/able to pay up-front how is that addressed in quote? or does the contractor, me, have to front the funds and get reimbursed after delivery Answer: The government can only pay for something after delivery and acceptance. Question: What is the average markup and what are the expected markups on equipment? Answer: Upon clarification the questioner was referring to overhead and profit. The amount of markup put on something is up to the company to decide taking into account the evaluation factors of the procurement. Question: We see that the RFQ response date has moved from Aug 29, 2005 to September 12, 2005. Can you tell me the reason for the extension on the RFQ? Answer: The Government was contacted and asked for an extension, the end user agreed.
