- Notice of Intent: Pursuant to FAR 6.301.1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The Department of Energy intends to enter into negotiations on a sole source basis with Desert Research Institute to provide cultural resources management support, and scientific research to ensure OCRWM meets its ongoing legal responsibilities to protect and manage historic properties and other objects or locations of historical, cultural, archaeological or religious significance potentially impacted by activities associated with its development of a repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. This management and protection is required under the National Historic Preservation Act, the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, the Native American Graves Protection Act, Executive Order 11593, 13007, DOE Orders and other federal laws regulations, and guidelines. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR AN INVITATION FOR BIDS. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT ANTICIPATE RECEIVING RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE OF A NON-COMPETITIVE ACTION.
