Description

In response to technical questions; the following additional information is provided for the published Sources Sought Notice for Solicitation Number: W52H0905R05410000 which posted on September 23, 2005. The existing M100 Sorbent Decontamination Sys tem's (SDS) current item configuration requires its manufacture in accordance with the Government's performance specification. The M100's decontaminant is based upon the performance of an alumina-silica sorbent mixed with 5% activated carbon. The Gove rnment owns the rights to this particular powder and its manufacturing process. However, this decontaminant's Technical Data Package (TDP) is controlled by Distribution Statement X. DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT X is protected and may require a non-disclosure agreement before the TDP can be obtained. Specific instructions are normally included within the solicitation giving direction to prospective offerors how to obtain this type of TDP. Should the Government issue a future solicitation for the manufacture a nd delivery of the M100 SDS, the scope of work (SOW) would define whether a specific manufacturing process, an alternative technology, or a combination thereof, is sought. Sections L and M of the solicitation would provide the evaluation factors and sele ction criteria by which any proposal would be rated. A prospective contractor would be advised whether it is allowable to submit a separate offer for each type of process or technology proposed. There is no definitive decision or solicitation available a t this time. Statements of Capability are being sought in accordance with the published Sources Sought Notice. The original response date of October 12, 2005 is extended to October 14, 2005 at 3P, local time.
