Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue a ?limited source? purchase under Simplified Acquisition procedures to the Iowa Communications Network, P.O. Box 587, Johnston, Iowa 50137 to provide for site provisioning, scheduling, access and operation of compressed video services for the Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) in West Des Moines, Iowa. As a result of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Central Iowa Federal Executive Council (CIFEC) and the State of Iowa, it was agreed by both parties to allow the OHA to use video telecommunication services provided by the State of Iowa. This connection will allow OHA to use the State of Iowa owned network transport services and 129 remote sites (classrooms) within the State of Iowa to deliver high quality citizen-centered services. This is a notice of intent and a solicitation will not be issued. SSA will not respond to requests for solicitation copies and will not pay for information received in response to this announcement. Responses must provide sufficient information for SSA to determine that a firm other than the Iowa Communications Network can provide the above services. If SSA does not receive an acceptable response within 5 days of this publication, it will issue a purchase order to the Iowa Communications Network.
