Description
DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATION WORKSTATEMENT Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials and equipment necessary to provide JANITORIAL SERVICES for the VET Center and CBOC located at 8796 E and D, Sacramento Center, Alexandria, Virginia 22309 for a period of twelve (12) months from October 1st through September 30, 2006. Pre-performance training will be offered at this Medical Center to contracted personnel prior to the initiation of these services to assure a complete understanding of procedural requirements. A thirty (30) day notice will be given to the incumbent and the new contractor prior to commencement of the contract. This notice for the incumbent will advise them not to continue to work after a specified date. It will provide the new contractor an opportunity to be in compliance with pre-contract performance requirements such as: (1) Pre-performance training requirement for CBOC competency (2) Labor Standards set forth in the contract (3) Invoicing monthly payments to the VET center (4) Request for submittal of germicidal detergent contractor will use for this project in cleaning CBOC area. Any changes made to the Vet Center space that result in a change to the services being provided will be negotiated and added to the contract by change order. The schedule of work is as follows: WEEKLY Cleaning shall be accomplished daily excluding weekends and federal holidays. 1. Vacuum all carpeted areas and spot clean all carpeted rooms as needed. 2. Empty all trash cans and remove trash from the premises. Provide plastic liners for all containers. Remove RED BAGS and place in locked BFI box located in rear of building. 3. Cleaning of restrooms shall include: All walls, floors, sinks, and toilets/urinals with a germicide disinfectant. Pour water down the floor drains. Clean all mirrors with glass cleaner. Fill soap dispenser, toilet paper and paper towels holders. 4. Clean all Break-Area table tops, chairs, counter tops and sinks. 5. Dust all employees areas including desks, chairs and tables, and all the building?s common area (moving of papers, and other items on desk(s) is not required, but careful attention around computer equipment shall be used). 6. Clean all windows with glass cleaner (inside and outside). 7. Provide paper goods for the Vet Center, CBOC, rooms and restroom. Paper goods represent reimbursable costs recoverable by invoice at the end of each month. The quantities below are estimated quantities based on fifty-two (52) weeks. a. Toilet paper ? approximately 264 rolls for the contract period b. Paper Towels ? approximately 352 packages for the contract period Cleaning to occur at the end of each work day for CBOC and the Vet Center. a. Using the appropriate germicidal cleaner: -Damp dust window sills -Clean all surfaces of furniture and exam tables -Clean doors, counter tops, and mirrors -Clean sinks, soap and towel dispensers -Spot clean walls and waste receptacles -Use the double-bucket mop procedure to mop exam room floors, medication room and mini lab. b. Refill soap and paper towel dispensers c. Use universal precautions during cleaning process, which requires the wearing of gloves. The VA Medical Center will supply germicide for cleaning CBOC and restroom, also wipes (germicide), alcohol foam, and 4% soap used by the CBOC only, including RED BAGS. MONTHLY 1. Clean and dust all low window sills with treated cloth. 2. Check all interior corner of walls and ceiling, cleaning out cobwebs. QUARTERLY 1. Polish (wax) CBOC and bathroom floors a minimum of one time per quarter. ANNUALLY 1. Shampoo carpet in the front reception area once annually.
