NAICS Code: 541990 NAICS Code: 541990 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL), Office of Research and Development (ORD) is seeking one individual, at least 18 years of age who is enrolled in a program leading to a Bachelor's degree to provide support in conducting program tracking/reporting and outreach activities via internal databases, Web site content and format, and graphics support and development for ORD's Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program. The ETV program develops testing protocols and verifies the performance of innovative technologies that have the potential to improve protection of human health and the environment. The ETV program aids organizations, industries, businesses, states, communities, and individuals in making informed decisions when selecting new environmental technologies. The selected student will work with EPA ETV staff on a variety of activities involving collecting, inputting, and updating databases, developing layout/design for new database entry modules and reports to be generated, developing user instructions on database use and maintenance, assist with Web site re-design efforts, develop outreach materials (i.e., pamphlets, fact sheets, handouts, graphics, etc.), draft articles and brief summaries for use in electronic newsletter, fact sheets, public affair communications, on the Web site etc.. The student shall have completed at least one full year of college course work relevant to computer science, information technology, and/or graphic support; and have basic experience in any of these areas. Good writing and communication skills are required. This work is expected to begin in December 2005 for a period of twelve (12) months through December 2006, thereafter to include an optional performance period of an additional twelve (12) months through December 2007, at the discretion of the EPA. It is anticipated that the student will work approximately 20-25 hours per week. Extension or continuance beyond 24 months is prohibited. The principal duty station location is the Andrew W. Breidenbach Environmental Research Facility, Cincinnati, OH. U.S. citizens are eligible to participate in this program. Non-U.S. citizens may be eligible to participate depending on their immigration status and the applicable regulations of the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service (BCIS). Students who are EPA employees or are the spouse or child of an EPA employee are not eligible to participate. The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with the level of education, as follows: $11.74/per hour for an undergraduate who has completed one year of college, $13.19/per hour for an undergraduate student who has completed two or more years of college. Interested students must propose their hourly rate in his/her proposal.
