Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to award a sole source Purchase Order to Harlan Sprague Dawley, Inc. for one base year and two option years, to provide animal food and bedding to be used in current research projects. This sole source is based on the need to maintain the USUHS research animal colony within strict husbandry specifications. These products have been established and have been in use during the continuing research projects. Variability in feed and bedding products could lead to unwanted changes in research results and the invalidation of scientific conclusions. The statutory authority permitting this award under other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
