Description
The U.S. Coast Guard, Maintenance & Logistics Command, Pacific (vpl) proposes to contract one IDIQ contract for 41 foot Utility Boats and 47 foot Motor Life Boats in Southern California area. The small boat stations are located in San Diego, CA, Los Angeles/ Long Beach, and Channel Island, CA. The performance period will begin with the base year 01 June 2006, plus four option years. This acquisition is being conducted as a Request for Proposals (RFP) Best Value procurement. There are geographical restrictions for this procurement the 47 foot MLB are restricted 300 nautical miles and the 41 footer UTB are restricted 270 nautical miles from there prospective boat stations. The work items include but not limited to for the 47 foot Motor Life Boat: Engine Room vent piping mod/doubler plate, hull plating renewal, rubrail removal and inspection, rubrail renewal with stud inspect/repair, trim tab installation , longitudinal replace/renew, tanks (mp fuel service) clean and inspect, watertight, weather tight door & hatch renewals, strut renewal, upper floatation chamber, inspect/repair, engine to gearbox alignment, gearbox removal and installation, gearbox to propulsion shaft alignment, cardan shaft seal, remove, inspect, and reinstall, propulsion shaft removal/reinstallation, strut & stern tube bearing renewals, installation of line cutters, propeller removal/install, fathometer transducer renewal, raw water strainer inspect and overhaul, seavalve test/renewal, steering gear hydraulic overhaul, rudder/rudder stocks removal/install, handrail renewal taff rail renewal, deck grate replacement, windshield replacement, hull plating, underwater body preserve (100%), hull plating, underwater body preservation (partial), underwater body preservation, topcoat renewal, underwater body preservation, topcoat renewal ceramcoat, pilot house, survivors compartment, and engineroom insulation renewal, temporary service, haulout, and haulout and underwater body work. The work items include but not limited to for the 41 foot Utility Boat: gas free certification, boat transportation to the contractor?s repair facility, fiberglass lamination repairs on cabin top, appendages (underwater) air test, exterior paint, freeboard, removal, hull plating ultrasonic thickness measurement, miscellaneous welding repairs, underwater body inspection, shell plating renewal & skeg realignment, crack repairs, rubber rubrail renewal, rubrail stud inspection and renewal zinc relocation, repair bilge crack, longitudinal repairs, shell plating renewal fuel tank clean and inspect, cabin top gel coat repairs, stanchion repair, stern tube (shaft log) renewal and alignment, strut assembly renewal, engineroom hatch repair, weather tight joiner door renewal, engine alignment, engine renewal fit and face coupling, propeller shafting, remove, inspect and reinstall, propulsion shaft bearing, strut renewal, stern cutlass bearing renewals, engine exhaust to exhaust flange piping alignment and installation, exhaust pipe repairs, mast junction box modification, fathometer transducer renewal, horn replacement, engine room escape scuttle drain installation, hydraulic steering system installation (boat alt 101), rudder bearing renewal, anchor line stowage cage renewal, underwater body preservation (no foul sn-1), paint removal, underwater body preservation (partial epoxy/no foul), deck coverings non-skid pad renewal, engineroom insulation and sheathing renewal, insulation renewal, temporary services, haulout, haulout.
