Description
JOLIET JOB CORPS CENTER SCOPE OF WORK WINDOWS LOSING CAULKING Buildings B, C, and D were constructed in 1964 and have single glazed windows in aluminum frame. The caulking has become brittle and much of it has disappeared, the remainder is not effective, resulting in air infiltration. The air infiltration especially in the winter causes loss of a great deal of energy and makes the spaces uncomfortable. 1. The contractor shall clean the joints and re-caulk with a material such as Silyl-Terminated Polyether (MS Polymer) that tolerates a wide range of temperature variance. 6,400 LF of caulking for first and second floor of Building B, and 5,300 LF for the corridors. 2. The contractor shall, for Building C, clean the joints and re-caulk with a material such as Silyl-Terminated Polyether (MS Polymer) that tolerates a wide range of temperature variance. 1,100 LF of caulking. 3. The contractor shall, for Building D, clean the joints and re-caulk with a material such as Silyl-Terminated Polyether (MS Polymer) that tolerates a wide range of temperature variance. 900 LF of caulking. 4. The contractor shall verify location and extent of demolition required to accomplish the work. 5. Construction debris must be removed from the site, and the construction area must be secured to the Center?s satisfaction at the end of each day. 6. The contractor will coordinate with the Center Director and the Finance and Administration Director to ensure student training and Center operations are not disrupted during the construction process. 7. All work must meet the latest edition of Building Codes. 8. The contractor shall at all times abide by the Center?s rules and regulations. 9. The contractor will comply, as applicable, with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act, the Copeland Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. 10. All materials, services and labor shall be warranted free for a period of one year. 11. The contractor shall test and demonstrate the proper functioning of the caulking to the Center?s satisfaction. 12. The contractor will provide and maintain competent and adequate supervision at the construction site to ensure that the complete work conforms to the approved plans and specifications and will furnish progress reports and such other information as may be required by the Center. 13. The contractor will initiate and complete the work within the applicable time frame after receipt of approval of the Center. 14. The contractor will comply with all Federal statutes relating to non-discrimination. 15. The contractor will determine the best time schedule for work to be done, regular business hours (8am to 5pm Monday through Friday), after hours and/or weekend.
