Description
MAINTENANCE SERVICE FOR CHILLED WATER AIR HANDLERS, for the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa Florida. This is a synopsis for commercial service per the procedures at FAR 12, 13, and 15. Request for Proposals (RFP) Solicitation Number 673-19-06. Solicitation issue date 16 Nov 2005, proposal due date 30 November 2005, 4 p.m. eastern standard time. It is anticipated this will be, at a minimum, a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310, size standard $6M. Services to be performed on a total of twenty seven (27) chilled water air handlers in various locations throughout the facility, as follows: 1. Replace all air filters with same type as existing. 2. Clean chilled water and steam coils with EPA approved non-acid cleaner. 3. Clean, flush and vacuum all condensate drains. 4. Coat condensate pans and add algaecide tabs upon completion. 5. Check and tighten motor and starter connections. 6. Check and adjust fan belts as needed, replace as necessary. 7. Ensure all doors and gaskets seal properly, replace gaskets as needed. 8. Modulate all valves, dampers and louvers to ensure drive and span, lubricate. 9. Valves, dampers and louvers to be actuated by onsite VA personnel radio communication and proper operation to be verified by the contractor?s technician. 10. Clean/flush all chill water strainers as found. Strainers with no isolation valves will be flushed only if allowable. 11. Lubricate all bearings, clean excess. 12. General cleaning of interior and exterior sections of air handlers. 13. Remove and properly dispose of all materials in a dumpster to be supplied by contractor at the hospital site. 14. Check insulation and make minor corrections as needed. Make notes of major insulation repairs needed and provide report to customer. 15. Determine best and most valuable course of rust prevention on interior and/or exterior rust prevention based on physical inspection and customer?s input, up to four hours per air handler. Provide written report per unit describing the course of action taken. This is a one-time job this year, there are no option years. The decision to conduct this acquisition as an SDVOSB set-aside will be based upon responses to this synopsis.
