Description: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to negotiate a sole-source purchase order with Giesecke & Devrient America, Incorporated (GDAI) for a service agreement in support of the BPS3000, a banknote processing system, used by the Federal Reserve Bank for processing currency in circulation. The equipment already purchased from GDAI is licensed and proprietary. The devices and preventative maintenance for the prior procured system is available only from the manufacturer, GDAI. The Government lacks form, fit, and functional data with which to adequately procure this service on a competitive basis. Award will be made on a sole-source basis for continued services by GDAI under the authority of FAR 6.302 and 13.106-1.
