Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a critical need for the modernization at four of its largest facilities. Because of the critical need and schedule, the FAA is only seeking sources that currently have automation systems in use in the Terminal environment of the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS) for the separation of aircraft. The requirement is for the modernization of the Automated Radar Terminal System (ARTS) model IIIE, Full Digital ARTS Display (FDAD) systems located at four Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facilities, and their associated air traffic control towers, located in Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN. The modernization must provide a scalable configuration to accommodate the redundant and diverse architectures found at each of the TRACONS and associated air traffic control towers, and include color TRACON displays, tower displays, Local Area Network (100MB minimum), and improved processing speed. Again, only interested parties that currently have automation systems in use in the Terminal environment of the NAS must submit a system description of their automation systems that are used in the safe and efficient movement of air traffic. If interested parties can not demonstrate the required criteria (i.e. an automation system in use in the Terminal environment of the NAS) they will be eliminated from further consideration. Expected contract award NLT January 2007 or earlier, if practicable. Interested parties must submit system description five (5) pages or less within ten (10) business days of issuance of this announcement to the following address: Federal Aviation Administration FOB10B, AJA-46, Attn: Tim Costas (Tim.Costas@FAA.Gov) TAMR Contracting Officer 600 Independence Avenue, S.W. 4th Floor, Section M Washington, D.C. 20591 Note - Please submit any questions via email request.
