Only pre-qualified contractors listed on the COMSEALOGPAC Area Command approved Force Protection Contractors will be considered for contract award. The Government's minimum requirement for vendor pre-qualification certification is necessary to insure Federal, State and MSC license and firearms training are current. Failure in any one of the key requirements would result in the inability of the contractor to meet the protection statement of work requirement. The standards are the same as applied throughout the command including private industry contractors as well as civil service mariners regarding possession and use of firearms aboard MSC vessels. b. All potential sources are eligible to apply to be on the qualified contractor list. From date of application the review and approval process takes approximately four to six months. The review process includes State license, Federal Security review and firearms training and re-certification. Once on the list the re-certification and update process is seamless and timely unless negative reports or missed certifications. The point of contact for applications and updates is phil.patton@navy.mil. c. Potential offerors that are not on the qualified contractor list will be advised to submit their interest in being added to the list to Mr. Patton to be able to compete for future requirements.
