Description
The Advanced Tactical Aircraft Protection (PMA-272) Program Office of the Naval Air Systems Command may have a requirement for a Directed Infrared Countermeasures System for integeration in Navy/Marine Corps. helicopters. The overall effort is to be known as the Assualt DIRCM program. This is a separate program from the Strike DIRCM program discussed in the Naval Air Systems Command Sources Sought Notice of 3 November 2005. The Navy is seeking information from industrial sources with capability to develop, test, produce, and support a directed infrared countermeasures system (DIRCM) for Navy/Marine Corps helicopters. The Navy is interested in receiving presentations and a written report from competitive and highly experienced sources with a background in the development of infrared countermeasures and laser warning systems and integration of DIRCM systems into Navy/Marine Corps helicopters. This information will be used to determine the viability and makeup of a Navy Assault DIRCM acquisition program. A detailed request for information (RFI) has been posted at the NAVAIR Homepage. The NAVAIR Homepage is located at http://www.navair.navy.mil/ and can be accessed using Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. To access the information, click on Doing Business and then click on Open Solictations. The Assault DIRCM RFI will be found under solicitation number N0001906P1PQ009. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or make a contract award under the Assault DIRCM program. In addition, the Government will not reimburse any funds expended by interested parties in preparing and submitting a response to this RFI. Information provided herein is subject to change.
