Description
This procurement is a Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible Small Business Concerns may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the U.S. Coast Guard. The U.S. Coast Guard decided not to set aside this acquisition for HUBZone concerns since the requirements of the HUBZone sources sought synopsis (Reference Number USCGC ANVIL (WLIC 75301), posted October 12, 2005) were not met. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about December 01, 2005, at http://www/eps/gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification Service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. THIS COMMERCIAL ITEM REQUIREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS AND WILL BE EVALUATED USING PAST PERFORMANCE AS THE MOST IMPORTANT EVALUATION FACTOR. The homeport of the vessel is CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA. All work will be performed at the vessel?s homepier. The performance period is THIRTY (30) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 15 MARCH 2006. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC ANVIL (WLIC 75301.) This work will include, but is not limited to: Welding Repairs; Clean Sewage and Gray Water Collection and Holding Tanks; Clean Exhaust Pipes; Clean Sewage and Gray Water Piping System; Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems; Reseal Cosmetic Polymeric Deck Covering Systems; Preserve Sewage and Gray Water Collection and Holding Tanks; Renew Wasted Metal; Renew Deck Covering Systems; Renew Fume Tight Door; Renew Barge Main Hatch; Overhaul Caterpillar Main Diesel Engines; and Overhaul Barge Fire Pump. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard, MLCA, for each set of requested drawings. Requests for U.S. Coast Guard specification referenced drawings (CD or hardcopy) must be made within ten (10) days from the solicitation issuance date.
