Description
The VA National Acquisition Center will issue RFP-797-NC-06-0001 for the Department of Veterans Affair's VA requirements for Iodine Swabs and Pads (wipes). The Department of Veterans Affairs intends this procurement as a Service-disabled Veteran-owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The Federal Government defines a SDVOSB as an entity having 500 employees or less, including affiliates. SDVOSB must have the ability to provide Iodine Swabs & Pads to VA facilities in all 50 states including Puerto Rico and Hawaii. SDVOSB will be required to make deliveries to any VA facility within 10-15 days from date of order. The estimated annual quantity is 1,861,900 packages of three (3) each for the swabs. Product description for the Iodine Swabs is as follows: 1. Swabs must be sterile. 2. Synthetic/Cotton composition (any combination). 3. Saturated with 10% Providone/1% Iodine. 4. Three swabs per package. 5. Swab stick length 3.5 _ 4 inches. The estimated annual quantity is 456,500 packages of 1 each for the Iodine pads. Product description for the Iodine Pads is as follows: 1. Pads must be sterile. 2. Synthetic/Cotton composition (any combination). 3. Saturated with 10% Providone/1% Iodine. 4. One each per package. 5. Pads must be large size (industry standard). The estimated quantities listed above are for VA only. Offerors must be able to provide the Iodine Swabs and Pads as listed. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through delivery orders to VA facilities. If offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including option years. This solicitation may be considered as a bundled procurement and the public is invited to submit comments to the Contracting Officer listed below. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of November 15, 2005 from the VA Office of Acquisition and Material Management's OA&MM internet web site at http://www.va.gov/oamm/busopp/sols.htm. Offers will be due by 4:00 pm Central Standard Time on November 30, 2005.
