- The Individual and Collective Protection Business Unit (ICPBU) at the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) will hold an Industry Day at the Gunpowder Club (Bldg E4650) in the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, on December 1 4, 2005 from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. The Industry Day relates to the ICPBUs requirement for a two (2)-year initiative to create a Qualified Products List (QPL) for individual and collective protection filters. The conference will be conduct ed in the Heron Room. The governments presentation will provide information relating to Phases II and III described below. The remaining time will be set-aside for individual company representatives to meet with government representatives. Each company i s restricted to five (5) attendee(s) and will be provided 20 minutes to discuss their product. Attendees may demonstrate product samples; however, the government will not accept product samples at this time. All information exchanged in the individual se ssions will be considered confidential. These sessions will be allocated as requests are received. The government will accommodate as many companies as time permits. If additional individual sessions are required, they will be scheduled and conducted De cember 15, 2005, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, as needed. These sessions, if needed, will be conducted in the Seneca Room of the Edgewood Conference Center, Bldg E4810. No Foreign Nationals will be permitted on post. This information should be provided no later than December 8, 2005. The ICPBU is the lead organization for a two (2)-year i nitiative to create a Qualified Products List (QPL) for individual and collective protection filters. This qualification effort is full and open to all candidates, regardless of the origin of its components. However, prior to placement on a QPL, candidat es must mitigate all risk of interruption in supply. The effort will evaluate the performance characteristics of candidate filter materials and end items configured to the military filter requirements. The qualification will be conducted in three (3) pha ses, as follows: Phase I--includes announcement of the Request for Information (which was completed), an Industry Day and coordination among government, industry, and academia; Phase II--encompasses all testing requirements (identified as gates). Phase III--will consist of analysis and service review. A Day Pass will be required to access the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground. All individuals attending Industry Day must process through the Visitor Center at the Route 24 Gate in the Edgewood Are a. To obtain a Day Pass, an individual must present a valid Drivers License or photo ID (i.e. passport) and a vehicle registration document. Individuals without these documents will be denied entrance to the Edgewood Area. All vehicles are subject to s earch by Security Personnel. Cameras, tape recorders, and cell phones with picture capability are not authorized on post. Individuals are highly encouraged to schedule their arrival time accordingly since there is limited parking space at the Visitor Cen ter. Directions to Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD - Edgewood Area FROM BWI AIRPORT/WASHINGTON, DC: Take I-95 North through the Fort McHenry Tunnel. Stay on I-95 until you get to Exit 77A (Edgewood), approximately 20 miles. From the exit ramp turn right onto Maryland Route 24 South, which will bring you directly to the Guard Gate at APG-Edgewood Area ( about 3 miles).FROM HARRISBURG:Take I-83 south to Route 695, Baltimore Beltway. Go east on 695 to I-95 North. Take I-95 North to Exit 77A (Edgewood). From the exit ramp take Maryland Route 24 South, which will bring you directly to the Guard Gate at APG -Edgewood Area (about 3 miles). FROM PHILADELPHIA, PA: Take I-95 South to Exit 77A (Edgewood). From the exit ramp take Maryland Route 24 South, which will bring you directly to the Guard Gate at APG-Edgewood Area (about 3 miles). Industry day will be conducted in the Gunpowder Club (Bldg E4650) - Stay on Hoadley Ro ad until you get to the four-way stop at Austin Road (about 2 miles). Turn right onto Austin Road (the road will fork to the right twice, first for Jessup Road, then for Parrish Road.) Stay to the left to remain on Austin Road. After you pass Parrish Roa d, take the second driveway on your right. You will be in front of the Gunpowder Club; there is additional parking around back.
