- Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, Seal Beach Division intends to award a sole source contract to the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council (NAS/NRC) in support of the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA and Resident Research Associateship Program. The anticipated period of performance will be 01 Jan 2006 through 31 Dec 2006 with four one-year option periods. A Cost Reimbursement (no fee), IDIQ, type contract is anticipated. The NAS is a private, non-profit, self-perpetuating society of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific and engineering research, dedicated to the furtherance of science and technology and to their use for the general welfare. The proposed requirement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-5. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all capability statements received by 23 Dec 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A Request for Proposal is not available. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. See Numbered Note 22
