The approximate response date of the solicitation will be 24 Jan 2006. No telephone requests. Hardcopies of the solicitation will not be sent from this office. The solicitation will be available by the release date for download only at www.fbo.gov. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. The anticipated award date will be 60 days after the issuance of this notice. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This item is a critical component whose reliability depends on strict quality assurance control. Failure of this item will cause engine damage and possible aircraft loss. This item can be purchased from Pratt and Whitney to insure part integrity. Inspection and Airfoil data are not available and are not economically obtainable. Pratt and Whitney will not give or sell the missing data. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm listed.
