Description

USDA, APHIS, VS has a requirement for a general contractor to provide labor, services, material and equipment necessary to modernize the New York Animal Import Center as described in the drawings and specifications which will be made available. All work shall be done in accordance with the latest building codes and will comply with local, Federal and State codes and is subject to Davis Bacon. The company will be required to obtain all necessary permits and licenses. This contract will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price contract to the most qualified company based on best value not low bid. The successful company will be required to provide performance and payment bonds as well as a bid bond. A copy of the solicitation, APHIS-06-013, is to be released on or about January 13, 2006 on this FBO site. If there are questions after the solicitation is released, they should be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. This solicitation will be announced for full and open competition, no set aside, and all responsible businesses may submit a proposal which will be evaluated. Proposals will be due no later than 2:30 pm local time on February 27, 2006. A prebid meeting will be held, the date and time to be announced. Potential contractors who attend will be given preference for award. The dollar value of this effort is estimated between $4M and $5M, therefore an acceptable subcontracting plan will be needed prior to award. A copy of the solicitation will be available at this office for review after the posting date. Parties interested in submitting a proposal should monitor the FBO website for amendments to the solicitation.
