Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the award of one firm-fixed price contract for the Replacement of existing overhead electrical distribution system with a new 34.5 KV underground el ectrical distribution system (Providing main (over current) disconnects means to facilities in areas not currently protected); replacement of switchgear, substations and building services; demolition of overhead electrical distribution system (This work in volves, primary, secondary, lighting, communications, and CATV and associated utility poles and hardware); replacement of overhead cable TV lines and CATV underground duct-bank; repairs to disturbed pavements, aprons, etc.; and installation of new street l ighting. The estimated cost range for this project is $10,000,000.00 to $25,000,000.00. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED and open to all prospective bidders. The selected contractor must complete the entire work ready for use no later than 540 calendar d ays after the contractor receives the Notice to Proceed, including cleanup of the premises. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified in the contract,or any extension, the contractor shall pay to the Government as liquidated d amages, the sum of $525.00 for each day of delay. The applicable NAICS Code is 237130 with a small business size standard of $28.5 million. The media selected for the issuance of solicitations and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Govern ment; accordingly, the media utilized for this project are the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of the solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the solicitation, at no charge at http ://www.nan.usace.army.mil. A registration page is attached to the website, and prospective bidders are required to register to receive notice of any amendments and or addenda that may be issued to the solicitation. Utilization of the internet is the preferred method, however, CDs will be availabl e upon written request stating the solicitation number, or project name, complete company name and street address (we will not deliver to P.O. Boxes), telephone and facsimile number (including area codes). Make check or money order payable in the amount o f $10.00 to FAO, USAED, NY. Solicitation documents for this construction effort will be available on or about 20 January 2006. The estimated bid opening date is on or about 22 February 2006 at 2:00 P.M. Registration Requirements: DFARS 252.204-7004 Requi red Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement.
