- The National Institutes of health (NIH), Fogarty International Center (FIC) intends to procure the Technical Services to provide all editorial and production processes necessary to publish the second edition of Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries from International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, 1818 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20433. The Tasks include but are not limited to the following: 1) copyediting and proofreading services for chapters of Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries, second edition (DCP-2), Priorities in Health (PIH), and Global Burden of Disease and Risk Factors (GBD); 2) prepublication services related to all three volumes, including typesetting, graphic design and production (for the books? charts, tables, graphs, boxes, figures, and other illustrations) and publication file and font testing; 3) project management services in connection with all production processes related to all three volumes, including shortening the text and illustrations to conform the volumes to the agreed-upon sizes; 4) development and production of the index for the DCP-2 volume; 5) translation of the PIH volume into six languages and the printing of translated versions in various quantities; 6) printing of 14,000 copies of the DCP-2 volume, 90,000 total copies of the PIH volume, and 10,000 copies of the GBD volume. The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development manages the copyrights associated with these products. This does not serve as a sole source notification and all interested vendors possessing the capabilities to fulfill the requirements under this solicitation may request a full copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) package in writing to the Contract Office prior to the closing date of this notice. In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.207 (c) (15), All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the Agency. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set-Aside. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-06-702 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is February 3, 2006. All interested parties to this solicitation may request a copy of the RFQ package in writing to the attention of Ms. Patricia Haun at the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774C, Bethesda, MD 20817 or via FAX (301) 4804226.
