Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 9 Contracting Office, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 is seeking sources to provide delivery, training and instruction in-the-use of Government owned Feeding and Suction Pumps for veteran patients of the VA Medical Center, 110 Veterans Drive, Lexington KY 40502. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Estimated number of pumps required per year: 1) 25 - Feeding Pumps and, 2) 25 Suction Pumps. The contractor is responsible for developing mechanisms and methods to register complaints, resolve emergencies, issue approved Patient Rights and Responsibilities, and provide pertinent documentation of performing all tasks. The purpose is to provide suitable Feeding and Suction pumps to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at their residences; educate the veteran and/or family member/caregiver in the safe use and operation of the pump to include changing filters and cleaning the machine. This does not require any hands-on care; only operational training on the equipment will be provided. Clinical education will be provided by Nursing or Nutrition Service at the Medical Center prior to discharge or by Home Health when the education cannot be accomplished prior to discharge. Veteran/family member/caregiver will be instructed who to contact at the VA in case of difficulty with tube feeding administration or suctioning. Contractor required response will be within one calendar day of receipt of notification from the VA that such equipment and education is needed at the veteran's residence. Contractor will coordinate delivery with the veteran and/or caregiver. Contractor will notify the COTR if contact cannot be made with veteran or caregiver. The contractor will provide service twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays The contractor must have the capability to receive orders via facsimile transmission. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Contractor will provide a quarterly report/chart tracking the number of orders received and the delivery time using a baseline of one (1) day to the COTR. The contractor shall be Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredited for home care and shall maintain the accreditation throughout the duration of this contract. Contractor will provide a copy of the Operating Guide for the equipment.
