- Statement Of Work 0900 Protestant Worship Service Music Coordinator POSITION: Protestant Worship Service Music Coordinator GENERAL: Responsible for the 0900 Protestant Worship Service at Moody AFB Chapel. Work with the Chaplain(s) in interpreting and preparing policies and procedures applicable to the total Protestant Music program. Advise the Chaplain(s) on all areas of Protestant Music program management. 1. DEFINITION OF SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED: The worship service music coordinator will be required to: A. Direct the chapel choir, choir rehearsals and insure special music is provided weekly. B. Direct congregational singing. C. Coordinate all choir activities and support requests with the chaplain or chaplains assigned to the Worship Service. D. Will coordinate and direct music for special worship services and choir performances (cantatas, etc.) such as Christmas and Easter. E. Be available for special worship services such as Christmas, Easter, Memorial Services as requested. F. Prepare an annual budget and inventory of required music/choir supplies and submit it to the chaplain responsible for the Protestant Worship Service. G. Be available to direct choir at other than the Worship Service in support of funerals, commemorative functions, on/off-base concerts, with advance notice and scheduling required H. Periodically enhance skills by attending education seminars, etc. I. Submit a monthly statement of services performed and request for payment to the chaplain(s) in charge of the Worship Service. 2. SCHEDULE OR SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED: Services shall be performed at the Moody Chapel Center, building 5120, and at other locations on Moody Air Force Base upon request. Contractor will perform duties every Sunday during the worship service and at weekly rehearsals. 3. STAFF RELATIONS: The contractor will coordinate all services performed, as defined in this statement of work, with the sponsoring chaplain, or in his/her absence, the Senior Faith or Wing Chaplain. Accompanist must work well with the chapel staff and promote a spirit of cooperation and unity. The sponsoring chaplain will certify all services provided by this contract. The contractor will ensure the Wing Chaplain or his/her delegated representative IAW 347 RQW/HC Operating Instructions approves all requests for chaplain funds and/or facility usage. 4. QUALIFICATIONS: A. Must have one-year experience in directing a choir in a church setting. B. Must have knowledge of seasonal religious music and able to select appropriate music in line with the church calendar. C. Must be familiar with Christian music (traditional and contemporary) and able to sight-read music. D. Must be able to teach songs to the choir. E. Must be knowledgeable/experienced in directing the choir and understanding piano and organ music. F. Must be able to work effectively with people in a religiously pluralistic environment. 5. CALL/TASK ORDER A. Each call/task order shall be issued on a monthly basis B. Each call consist of monthly services to include, weekly practices and Sunday services C. Additional services maybe necessary and shall be issued on a separate call/task order
