- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Polymers Division, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Wyatt Technology Corporation of Goleta, CA., for a Wyatt Optilab rEX Refractive Index Detector for Chromatography. Sole source determination is based on the need to maintain100% compatibility and data integration with existing NIST?s Wyatt Technology DAWN EOS Light Scattering Detector and Wyatt Technology ViscoStar Viscosity Detector. Only Wyatt Technology Corporation can provide a detector that will maintain compatibility with the existing hardware & software. Wyatt is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by January 24, 2006, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
