- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for an estimated annual quantity of 300 switches, NSN 5930-01-310-1707, which are to be manufactured in accordance with Westinghouse Electric Corp., Defense & Electronic Systems Center, Drawing No. 645A630, dated 5/17/84 (attachment). The requirement is for a base year and includes option provisions to renew for four additional 1-year periods, to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. The switches are required in support of the Airport Surveillance Radars (ASR-9), which are an integral part of the Air Traffic Control System. In accordance with Westinghouse Drawing No. 645A630, there are five approved manufacturers for this switch as follows: RLC Electronics, Inc., Mount Kisco, NY; Dow-Key Microwave Corp, Ventura, CA; Amphenol Corp, Danbury, CT; Microwave Associates, Lowell, MA; and K and L Microwave, Inc. Salisbury, MD. The FAA intends to only solicit offers from these five approved manufacturers. Questions should be sent electronically to the Contracting Officer.
