Description

The Center for Health Care Contracting (CHCC) intends to award an Indefinite-Delivery, Requirements Type Contract, to provide non-personal scientific services in the field of toxicology. A sole source award will be made to The National Academy of Sci ence (NAS), Washington D.C. under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). NAS is a non-profit organization federally chartered under the authority of US Code, Title 36, Public Law 105-225, 112 Stat 1388. Under the pro cedures of the National Research Council (NRC), which is the principal operating agency of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), the Committee on Toxicology (COT) shall provide independent multidisciplinary investigations and assessments on general and s pecific problems in the field of toxicology. NAS shall provide services to collect, maintain and evaluate toxicity and related information on a wide variety of substances of interest, provide toxicological advice, including evaluations and recommendations about specified substances; and undertake studies for the determination of exposure limit, make recommendations regarding specific toxicity testing. NAS shall review methods for assessing hazard and risk from exposure to chemical substances including the scientific basis for the assumptions used by Department of Defense (DOD) to develop risk estimates. The requirement is for a base period of one year and four 1-year options. Request for Proposal (RFP) number W81K04-06-R-0004 will be issued on or about 13 February 2006.
