Description
The U.S. Coast Guard intends to solicit,negotiate and award a sole source procurement to Harris Corporation, 1420 Fifth Ave., Suite 2200, Seattle Washington. The Coast Guard has a requirement to procure the following items as part of a Bay Area Communication (BACS) Systems Upgrade: (1) 1 ea PCR software; (2) 40 ea Rack accessories/cables, Cable assy, 16 pr plug-receptacle; (3) 3 ea Const to const, scan null modem cable, RJ45-RJ45, 5 ft; (4) Const to const, scan null model cable, RJ45-RJ45, 25 ft; (5) 3 ea Const to const, data cable RJ45-RJ45, 5 ft; (6) 2 ea Const to const, data cable, RJ45-RJ45, 25 ft; (7) 3 ea Const to const, VF OW cable, RJ45-RJ45, 5 ft; (8) 2 ea Const to const, VF OW cable, RJ45-RJ45, 25ft; (9) 5 ea HHT Keypad; (10) 5 ea Orderwire Handset; (11) 10 ea Connstellation alarm cable 25 pair 50 pin male-stub 50 ft; (12) 10 ea DXS-1 cross connect jackfield 56 circuit; (13) 20 ea 50 pin wire wrap male adapter; (14) 20 ea 50 pin wire wrap female adapter; (15) 7 ea System factory services; (16) 7 ea Factory OEM vendor integration; (17) 1 ea Customer factory acceptance test (2 days) (18) 1 ea System Engineering; (19) 1 ea Application ? Engineering ? Documentation; (20) 1 ea Drafting; (21) 1 ea Transmission Engineering ? Path Survey. The USCG owns and operates an extensive microwave communications network in and around San Francisco Bay area. The radio used shall have the capability to carry 3 DS3 data channels but the current requirement is 16 T1 data channels. The U.S. Coast Guard has determined that only Harris equipment will support the existing microwave radio network, therefore competition is not available The Coast Guard has determined therefore that competition is not available. If no responses are received within fifteen (15) days with sufficient information to determine that another responsible source is available, negotiations will be conducted with Harris Corporation. Performance shall be in accordance with the standards contained in applicable purchase order clauses contained in the award. This solicitation will be unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 334220. The size standard is 750 employees. The contract type will be firm fixed price. Negotiations with Harris Corporation will begin on or about 20 February 2006.
