Description

FedBiz Synopsis for Thermal Instruments Acquisition The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a need to replace existing thermal equipment and intends to award a sole source contract in the amount of $429,980 to TA Instruments, 100 Lukens Drive, New Castle, Delaware, to procure the following in quantities of one each: (1) Q1000 Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter with Autosampler and Mass Flow Control; (2) Refrigerated Cooling System (RCS; 120V); (3) Pressure Regulator; (4) RCS Gas Dryer; (5) DSC Sample Press; (6) Q100 Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter with Mass Flow Control; (7) Liquid Nitrogen Cooling System; (8) Pressure Regulator; (9) RCS Gas Dryer; (10) Q5000 IR; (11) Q400EM Thermomechanical Analyzer with Mass Flow Control; (12) Q800 Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer; (13) Gas Cooling Accessory with Auto-Fill capability for the Q800; (14) Low Friction 50mm Three Point Bend Fixture for Q800 DMA; (15) Dual & Single Cantilever Bending Kit for Q800 DMA; (16) Film & Fiber Tension Kit for Q800 DMA; (17) Kit Ethernet Switch; (18) Rheometer ARES-RDA with Forced Convection Oven; (19) Thermoset Testing Package; (20) 25 mm Disposable Parallel Plates; (21) 50 mm Disposable Parallel Plates; (22) TA Orchestrator; (23) Air Dryer Membrane; (24) ARES Rheometer Hands-On Training Course; (25) ARES and RSA III Waveform and Fast Sampling Option; (26) Thermal Analysis/Rheology Computer (27) Color Monitor Flat Panel 17?. This highly sophisticated equipment will be used in the assessment and evaluation of materials that support the F/A-18 E/F, V-22, H-1, JSF platforms as well as support for Science and Technology 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 programs. The instruments to be purchased under this effort must be interchangeable with existing thermal equipment in order to prevent the loss of historical data. It is imperative that the replacement instruments be manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer in order to access and to maintain existing historical data on aircraft materials. TA Instruments is the original and sole manufacturer of the instruments that are to be procured under this contract. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
