Description
Liquid Anionic Polymer Flocculant in 275-gallon totes to the two Wastewater Treatment Plants located at Buildings 505 and 153 Anniston Army Depot (ANAD), Anniston, AL .The contractor shall provide a water-in-oil emulsion of a high molecular weight, m edium charge density anionic polymer (Polymer) to the ANAD Industrial Waste Treatment Plant (IWTP), Building 505, and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Building 153. Both plants are located in the Nichols Industrial Complex of ANAD. Polymer is used at the IWTP to treat hydrocarbon laden wastewater streams generated from the steam cleaning of battle vehicles. Also, it is used to treat domestic sewage at the STP. The treatment consists of equalization precipitation, coagulation, clarification, and filt ering. The processes that generate the wastewaters include electroplating of chromium, plating of silver, nickel and copper, metal cleaning operations including the use of various acids that may release cadmium and sodium hydroxide-steam cleaning removing hydrocarbon deposits including heavy oils and greases, paint removal, and painting. The flocculant will be used to enhance the gravity settling of metal hydroxide precipitates and hydrocarbon solids generated from the treatment processes. The depot is re quired to comply with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit effluent limitations. Product must be tested on the waste waters before contract award. The contractor shall be required to furnish Material Safety Data Sheets and comply with the MSDS. A site visit will be scheduled and contractors are encouraged to participate. The requirement shall be a base year requirement with four option years. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 325199, with a size st andard of 1000 employees.
