- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for the provision of Infectious Waste Removal and Disposal Services at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens located in Ayer, Massachusetts 01432. The small business size standard for this requirement is $10.5 million and the NAICS is 562112. The contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of infectious waste at the Health Services Department, FMC Devens, MA. The contractor shall furnish all supplies for the safe disposal of infectious waste, to include, but not limited to receptacles, plastic bags, puncture resistant and leak proof sharp containers. The schedule of services will include a minimum of one (1) removal per week. Removals will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST), excluding federal holidays. These services are to be provided on an as needed basis. Total pickups for a 12-month period is estimated to be 52. The amount of annual infectious waste is estimated to be 67,600 pounds. The weekly amount of anticipated waste is 1300 pounds, or 26 lbs per container. The contractor must possess all licenses and permits required to provide the services in accordance with federal, state and local, regulations, as well as obtain and maintain liability insurance. The provision of services under this proposed contract will require the successful quoter to submit to a preliminary background investigation prior to beginning contract performance. The solicitation will be made available on or about March 15, 2006, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about April 11, 2006. The work is expected to start on or about May 1, 2006, for twelve months, with four possible one-year options periods to follow. All responsible small business sources are encouraged to submit a quotation which will be considered for award. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
